Target

the UPDATED spec/plan artefact at docs/specs/2026/2026-10/2026-10-28-drop-managed-runtime-design.org. The author has revised it in response to prior rounds. Review only this file.

Context file, not a review target

docs/specs/2026/2026-10/2026-10-28-drop-managed-runtime-design-review.org contains prior review rounds for this artefact. Do not critique it.

Prior rounds

  • Round 1 (5 findings): F1 [P1] Keep guards alive until descendant cleanup finishes — fixed; F2 [P2] Define shutdown when bb dev owns the shared server — fixed; F3 [P2] Establish the ordering behind the compile-line guarantee — fixed; F4 [P2] Preserve executable evidence for the observed lifecycle claims — fixed; F5 [P2] Make evidence pipelines fail when their source lookup fails — fixed
  • Round 2 (2 findings): F1 [P2] Establish launcher identity before the guard starts — fixed; F2 [P2] Demonstrate the modification-time rejection — fixed

Charter

Review this executable spec with fresh eyes, within this charter:

  • the intent: what the document commits to, where it contradicts itself, what it leaves undefined;
  • the linkage between each decision row and the evidence block it cites — whether the block shown actually establishes the claim the row makes;
  • the evidence blocks as code: what they would do on another machine, what they assume, whether they are deterministic;
  • the legitimacy of bareness: a row claiming bare that could have carried a block, and decision-like prose that never became a row at all.

Pay particular attention to anything the recent fixes may have broken, contradicted, or introduced. If remaining findings would be nits, say so — "looks good" is a valid output. If a finding is one instance of a pattern, report every instance you can see in this pass, not just the first.

Boundary

Note: the calling agent appends your findings to the sibling review file; do not write any files yourself. Reading the target file is expected.
